Connect with the Ontario Extend
Community of Practice in eCampusOntario’s Extending Into Fall Series

Ontario Extend is eCampusOntario’s micro-credentialed professional learning program for edcuators. Extend empowers educators to explore a range of emerging technologies and pedagogical practices for effective online and technology-enabled teaching and learning.

To further assist Ontario Educators preparing for new and varied approaches to teaching in Fall 2021, eCampusOntario is offering this Extending Into Fall Series in September 2021 as a launch into the Fall 2021 facilitated offering in the Brightspace Learning Management System.

Whether its online, hybrid, hyflex teaching, or return to campus, Ontario Extend facilitated sessions will help you develop the skills to integrate technology-enabled teaching and learning practices into your repertoire.

To date more than 1,100 Ontario post-secondary educators have engaged with Ontario Extend to develop new skills and collaborate with educators across the province. Collectively they have earned more than 600 digital badges recognizing their EdTech skills development.

Extend explores key skills, knowledge, and attributes required to extend and transform your teaching and learning practices and to enrich your professional development. The program is designed to contribute to the digital fluency of educators and to support their decision making for the appropriate use of digital tools.

Now is your chance during this Fall Series to come together with the community, meet colleagues, collaborate, share new ideas and learn from each other. Online Workshop facilitators will bring specialized expertise in areas that will help you enhance your teaching practices for Fall 2021They will share insights and facilitate discussions on key module topics such as effective teaching practices, open educational resources and technology tools for experimentation. These sessions will be delivered through a series of bite-sized and hands-on webinars designed for educators, by educators.

In this webinar, we will explore how we learn and what we can do to ensure learning environments are effective, accessible, intersectional, and equitable. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and complete the activity that will contribute to the completion of the module during this session.

You may not know it, but you likely are already a curator. If you have ever made a playlist in iTunes, or organized a personal library in your house or on a device, or bookmarked your favourite sites on your computer, or subscribed to a feed reader, you are a curator! In this webinar, you will explore OER repositories and experiment with new search tools to curate engaging, interactive, and open course materials from your learners’ perspective. You will also have a chance to ask questions about Creative Commons licenses and Copyright as you search for, find, and evaluate Open Education Resources (OER). You will be on your way to completing this module after attending this workshop.
